Greetings from the ASGA Office on Cape Cod and we hope you are enjoying a terrific summer! We have recently returned from a wonderful visit to Nemacolin Resort in Pennsylvania and would like to take this moment to bring you up to date on the exciting upcoming events we have upcoming for the balance of 2025 as well as what we have confirmed and are working to finalize for 2026.
All confirmed events are now updated on our website and you can find relevant details by visiting www.asgagolf.org anytime. While our upcoming Cape Cod Clambake is currently sold out with a waitlist, you can expect to receive invitations for Indian Wells in December as well as Casa de Campo in February later this summer.
We are excited to announce that the 2026 Spring Championship will bring us to beautiful Hilton Head Island in South Carolina where we will play Harbour Town Golf Links just prior to the PGA Tour RBC Heritage as well as the private Haig Point Golf Club! This event will take place March 29 – April 1, 2026 and we expect a large group of ASGA Members to join us there for a terrific week.
We are also thrilled that we have just completed a contract and will be visiting the famous Broadmoor resort in Colorada Springs, CO July 12-15, 2026! Since first opening over a century ago, The Broadmoor has offered guests an incredible way to experience the unique beauty of the American West. Having recently hosted the U.S. Senior Open, the world’s longest-running consecutive Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond resort features tradition met with warm, genuine hospitality and outstanding golf.
Your Contributions Are Shaping the Future of Golf
We would also like to take just a minute to remind you about our ASGA Charitable Trust. Established in 1989, the purpose of the Fund as stated in the By Laws of the ASGA, is as follows:
“To encourage and support amateur golf competition, national and international and, the foregoing notwithstanding, the promotion of golf among youth; and contributions, gifts, or donations to the Trust Fund shall be held in trust and administered by the Trustee for such purpose as specified by the donor.”
The Trust is in outstanding financial shape due to generous donations from our Members as well as the diligent stewardship of the Trust Committee led by Ken Auerbach, Wayne Edwards and Ken Kinsey.
The Fund is a registered 501(C)(3) charity and contributions to the Fund are fully tax deductible by the donor. The sole source of support for the Fund is contributions from our members and the continued success of the Charitable Trust Fund is dependent upon the generosity of our members.
As a further note, all of our support to worthy causes comes as a direct result of programs introduced to us by ASGA Members or Clubs that we visit for our events. It is most gratifying when we are able to make contributions to golf charities that are meaningful to our Membership and to that end, we are always on the lookout for new programs. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have a suggestion in this regard and the Trust Committee and ASGA Board will be happy to consider. Of course if you are interested in making a tax-deductible donation, checks of any amount can be made out to the ASGA Charitable Trust and mailed to the ASGA Office at the address below and please do not hesitate to contact the ASGA Office if you have questions about the Trust.
Membership Grows Through You. Keep the Tradition Alive
We know that some of you have been personally responsible for bringing many new members to the ASGA, and the Board appreciates your efforts very much. We do not advertise for membership, we attain new members only by word-of-mouth and sponsorship from our members inspiring their friends and golf pals to join. We would ask you to keep doing so and to spread the word to other members when given the opportunity. The basic requirements are that a new member is a gentleman on and off the course, has a handicap index of 21.5 or lower, is affiliated with a private club and is age 50+. Simply send names and email or mailing addresses of golfing friends to the ASGA Office and the staff will prepare and send membership materials on your behalf. We would also like to note that you are welcome to bring a friend to an upcoming event as a guest should they wish to experience ASGA before joining so long as the event is not sold out.
