In our continuing effort to provide Members with different opportunities to come together until the time comes when we can get back to large events, we will be able to host a day at the exceptional Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle, NY on Thursday, October 15th.
This was recently announced and we are extremely pleased to report that the response to our impromptu day of golf has been overwhelming. When we first started planning, we told the club we would expect between 20-25 players… we received interest from more than 60! ASGA and Wykagyl Members Tom Cole, Peter Longo and Bob Forsyth have generously agreed to serve as sponsors and we greatly appreciate their hospitality.
For those of you who may not know, Wykagyl is a world-class club founded in 1898 with a golf course dating back to 1904. The course was originally laid out by members with changes made by both Donald Ross and A.W. Tillinghast. Most recently in 2006, a major renovation was done by the team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw which has received rave reviews.
Wykagyl has hosted many significant golf events and was always considered one of the players’ favorite stops on the LPGA Tour hosting events for many years.
